BOISE -- A Buhl man accused of hitting two parked state police troopers with his pickup truck last month on Interstate 84 was arraigned Thursday.
David Turnovec was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.
He was cited on around noon on Oct. 22 by a Boise Police officer for speeding and driving without insurance.
Later that afternoon, police say he targeted the troopers on I-84 without braking and hit them head-on, and even asked them to shoot him.
Both troopers went to the hospital and have since been released.
Turnovec is due back in court on Dec. 10 to enter a plea.
He has been hospitalized for schizophrenia and discharged from the military.
