NAMPA, Idaho -- A U.S. Post Office building in southwest Idaho has been renamed in honor of a Korean War hero from the city who died in 1951 at age 20 after jumping on a grenade to save the lives of his fellow soldiers. The family of Marine Pfc. Herbert Littleton attended the ceremony Saturday. Democrat U.S. Rep. Walt Minnick presented Littleton's friend, Caldwell resident and fellow veteran Leo Holmes, with a U.S. flag and a copy of the congressional bill that made the renaming possible. Not long after he died, Littleton was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor by President Harry S. Truman.
