MERIDIAN – A big donation was handed out today for the Boise Rescue Mission's new shelter.

Kendall Ford of Meridian gave a helping hand to the shelter by donating 120 brand new sets of sheets to the Valley Women and Children's Shelter in Nampa.

"Getting these 120 sets of sheets for the new shelter in Nampa is amazing, because we’re starting pretty much from scratch. There is some furniture there, beautiful building, it’s set up pretty well, but we need to supply everything and this just crosses a big item off our list," said Jean Lockhart with the Boise Rescue Mission.

"This is the 12th day of our 12 days of caring and we have helped out families just wherever we have seen need, and we do it all year long but this is the time of the year when it’s just more special," said David Shears, General Manager, Kendall Ford.

The Valley Women and Children's Shelter is preparing to open its doors in the next few weeks.
