IDAHO FALLS -- A judge has ordered an Idaho Falls woman to spend between two and five years in prison for her role in the fatal stabbing in June.
Seventh District Judge Jon S. Shindurling handed down the sentence Thursday for 18-year-old Samantha Neyman.
She was convicted in October of aggravated battery for harboring co-defendants and lying to police in the slaying of 20-year-old Ryan Dyer.
The Post Register reports the judge retained jurisdiction in the case, and put Neyman in a rider program. That gives the judge six months to decide if Neyman should serve the remainder of her sentence in prison or on probation.
Earlier this month, 20-year-old Steven R. Mitchell pleaded guilty to stabbing Dyer in the chest and legs during a fight. A second defendant, Shane Beausoleil, is charged with being a principal to second-degree murder.
