GRANGEVILLE, Idaho -- Northcentral Idaho authorities arrested a 27-year-old woman who they believe killed another woman who died from injuries suffered in an incident late last month.
The Lewiston Tribune reported Tara Rose Mendenhall is in Idaho County Jail after a felony second-degree murder warrant was filed against her Thursday in the death of 44-year-old Elk City resident Lora K. Vandenburg.
Idaho County Prosecutor Kirk A. MacGregor says Mendenhall was involved in a physical altercation with Vandenburg on Sept. 24.
Vandenburg was taken to a hospital in Lewiston but died from brain bleeding last Saturday.
Mendenhall remained in jail on Friday pending formal charges being filed against her.
According to Idaho court records, Mendenhall has numerous arrests and has spent time in jail for convictions including assault, domestic violence and drunken driving.
