BOISE -- Thousands of people showed up Tuesday night to the Grove Plaza in Downtown Boise to ring in the new year with Idaho's first annual New Year's Eve Potato Drop.
The giant spud that helped Idahoans ring in 2014 is made of a steel frame and foam, and is about 16 feet long.
Confetti was also released from the top of the potato's platform.
