CASSIA COUNTY –A man wanted for first-degree murder at a Burley motel last spring has been arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Cassia County Sheriff’s Office identified 53-year-old James Ambrose as a suspect in the death of 54-year-old Russ Taft. The two men worked at the Alpine Garden Motel. Taft's body was found in the crawl space of the motel on May 18, 2012.
The coroner said that Taft died from a stab wound to the heart and blunt force trauma to the head.
The sheriff's office says Ambrose was arrested after police received a tip when this case aired on the America's Most Wanted television show. He was living and panhandling on the streets of Las Vegas and arrested without incident.
Investigators from Cassia County are in Las Vegas interviewing Ambrose. He faces charges in Nevada and will be transported back to Idaho once Nevada authorities are finished with him.
Ambrose has multiple warrants for his arrest in Las Vegas for kidnapping, robbery, burglary, battery and grand larceny.
On Aug. 30, an Idaho judge issued an arrest warrant on a charge of first-degree murder and a weapons enhancement. He also had arrest warrant for grand theft.
