BOISE -- There were plenty of smiling faces inside the Boise Airport Thursday morning as more than two dozen World War II veterans returned from the trip of a lifetime.
It was Idaho's second Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. The group of men and women left earlier this week and got to tour our nation's capitol for the first time.
The veterans got to see museums and monuments.
Bill Litzebauer says it was the greatest trip of his life.
"It was a wonderful gift, more than what any of us envisioned. They treated us well and we had a very fine reception in D.C.
Southwest Airlines donated the airline tickets and hotels donated rooms for the Honor Flight.
