BOISE – The Home Depot is expecting a busy spring and plans to hire 80,000 seasonal workers across the U.S., including 225 people in Boise.

Company officials say now is the time to apply for those job openings. Some of the seasonal jobs could turn into permanent positions with the home improvement store. About half of last year’s seasonal hires transitioned into regular positions.

The Home Depot is encouraging returning military and veterans to apply.  The company recently launched its Online Military Skills Translator to help match unique military skills with positions within the company. Both the skills translator and a calendar of military hiring events can be found at www.careers.homedepot.com/military.

Seasonal associates will be assigned responsibilities based on their previous retail or home improvement experience and based on the needs of individual stores.

Candidates can apply for positions at http://careers.homedepot.com.

Available positions vary by store.
