BOISE -- Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter has appointed veteran congressional staffer Jani Revier as administrator of the State Division of Financial Management.

When Revier takes the post on January 2, 2013, she'll become the state's first female budget director. She succeeds Wayne Hammon, who resigned in September to become Executive Director for the Idaho Associated General Contractors.

“I’m extremely fortunate to have such an experienced, savvy and proven leader agree to assume the responsibilities of budget director,” Governor Otter said. “I worked closely with Jani in Congress and I’ve known her and her family for many years. They are great people, and Jani is an excellent addition to my team.”

Revier served as legislative director and then deputy chief of staff during Otter's years in Congress, from 2001 through 2006.

“I am honored and grateful to be given the opportunity to serve Governor Otter and the people of Idaho as DFM administrator,” Revier said. “I look forward to working with the Legislature, agency directors, stakeholders, and my colleagues in the Governor’s office to advance a responsible budget and sound public policy.”

Most recently, Revier worked as a special projects manager for Congressman Mike Simpson.

Revier has a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from Oklahoma State University.
