NAMPA -- A food processing company looking to expand its business plans to open a new plant in Nampa and bring in at least 230 new jobs.

Materne North America makes GoGo Squeez applesauce on the go.

Today at Nampa City Hall, Nampa's economic development director announced that the company will invest $85 million in a new food processing facility to be housed at a site on East Karcher Road, formerly owned by MPC.  The building has been vacant since 2007.

"It's great for Nampa. It builds on our agricultural base. We do have orchards in the area that will be able to potentially be suppliers for the product," said Beth Ineck.

Materne plans to post job openings for new factory management and technical positions later this month.
