BOISE -- Boise and airport fire units responded to a fuel spill at the Boise Airport Wednesday afternoon.

Boise Airport spokeswoman Patti Miller says the leak occurred when crews were refueling an American Airlines jet diverted from Salt Lake City to Boise because of bad weather.  Miller is unaware what caused the leak.

Ada County dispatch says about 50 to 100 gallons of fuel spilled, and the plane was towed away as a precaution.

The plane was moved to a general aviation runway used mainly for charter planes, and is not affecting normal airport commercial operations.
