JEROME COUNTY, Idaho -- A California man is dead and an Idaho woman is hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision on the Hansen Bridge Sunday afternoon.
According to Idaho State Police, 53-year-old Jeffrey Evans from Grass Valley, CA died after trying to make a U-turn in front of an oncoming vehicle at approximately 5:34 p.m.
Investigators say Evans was pulled over on the side of the road when he attempted the maneuver.
Evans' vehicle was then struck by a pickup driven by 40-year-old Shane Scott from Filer, Idaho.
Scott's passenger, 40-year-old Diana Scott, was also injured in the crash. Police say she was flown via air ambulance to a Twin Falls hospital.
All lanes of travel were blocked for approximately three hours after the accident.
