MERIDIAN -- Four Boise men are trying to help students get back into the game with their upcoming Farm Man Challenge. Events include The Hellish 6.66 Miler, Running with the Dead 5k and Farm Man Xross Challenge.
They are hoping this can help with Pay to Play -- that's the program that requires students to come up with funds to play sports.
The fees are designed to cover part of the coaching salaries.
Jonathan Gonzales, Jeff Allen, Steven Caporale and Brett Hughes, in partnership with the owners of Linder Farms, are hoping they can help by having proceeds of this year's Farm Man Challenge go directly to local high school athletic programs.
"We've dug up the earth pretty good so you've got a lot of inclines and declines, a lot of hurdles, a lot of different pumpkins to avoid, there's a lot of gullies, a lot of hills that you'll be encountering, it'll be a lot of fun but it will be very challenging," said Hughes.
You can register Saturday. The events begin at 10 a.m. at Linder Farms in Meridian. There is also a Children's Pumpkin Head Dash for kids under 12 at Noon.
