NAMPA, Idaho -- Nampa welcomed its first Christmas baby early Sunday morning.

Alexander James Butkus was born at 3:56 a.m.

Alexander was a Christmas gift to his parents, Brian and Melinda Butkus, and his big sister Abigail. He weighs 7 lbs. 13 oz. and measures 20 inches. The hospital said both mother and baby are doing well.

Saint Alphonsus – Nampa, in commemoration of the hospital’s Christmas baby, presented the Butkus family with a basket filled with things like baby clothes, diapers, and blankets.
