BOISE -- Families gathered today in Ann Morrison Park to walk for a cure for diabetes. KTVB spoke to one of the groups known as "Ashton's Crew," that was participating in today's walk.
Lisa is in charge of the crew and says her son Ashton was diagnosed after his 11th birthday.
Today, they walked as a family to raise money and support for cure research.
The walk is a fun-filled charity held in locations all around the world and each year it raises funds for the millions of people living with and affected by Type 1-Diabetes.
"I think it shows him that he's not alone and that there is everyone and lots of people have it...especially since he went through so much in January so its just kind a nice day for him," said Lisa.
Ashton's Crew raised $500 today.
Nationwide, more than 600,000 people participate across the nation each year.
