TWIN FALLS -- Authorities in southwestern Idaho say they are working to track down who made a fake report of a shooting in Twin Falls last week that drew in multiple law enforcement officers from three agencies.

The Times-News reports that officials want to find out where the fake call originated late Friday afternoon.

Police say a person calling through a deaf interpretation relay service said, "He shot my mom."

Emergency dispatchers on police radio scanners told officers the caller said the man had been drinking and was in the hallway while the caller and mother hid.

Heavily armed police responded to three locations before determining the call was fake.

Twin Falls Police Capt. Matt Hicks says the caller could face numerous charges, and possible civil charges to recoup the cost of the police resources.
