BOISE -- It was quite the scare on the Boise State campus Monday as a minor explosion happened in the Student Union Building.
"We were just sitting there eating dinner and then all of a sudden we hear this huge, it sounded like a bomb honestly. We were both scared," said BSU freshman Katie McKelvey.
Boise police say a butane can, about the size of a spray paint can, exploded in the kitchen area around 7 p.m.
They say the can full of gas was near a warming station and apparently leaked, ignited and exploded.
The explosion blew the doors off the stove, and debris hit one kitchen worker in the leg. That worker had minor injuries.
The incident did not disrupt food service or any other activities.
