MERIDIAN -- At Roaring Springs Sunday, 10,000 toy dolphins were dropped into the waters of the Endless River.
This is the 13th year of the Great Dolphin Dunk. In the past 12 years the event has raised $750,000 in cash and in-kind donations for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Ada County.
This year's goal was to raise $30,000 to help serve more than a thousand kids each day who use the clubs in Garden City, Meridian and Kuna.
"One of the best things about this event is that it allows members from the Boys and Girls club whose families might not be able to afford to come to Roaring Springs, we bring those kids out here and they just have the best time," said Roaring Springs marketing director Tiffany Quilici. "Its almost like their summer vacation all in one day they are so excited."
The first place dolphin won Roaring springs season tickets, second place got free Dutch Brothers coffee for a year, and third won free oil changes for one year from Heritage Auto.
Families can join The Boys and Girls club for just 10 dollars a year. To find out more click here.
