IDAHO FALLS -- An Idaho Falls dog is being called a hero for waking up the mother of a pregnant 15-year-old girl who had a life-threatening seizure.

KIFI-TV reports Codi Robertson was asleep on the couch last week when she started shaking and yelling for her mother.

Debbie Denning didn't hear her daughter's calls for help, but the family's 8-year-old American Eskimo dog, Mickey, did. The dog awakened Denning, who found her daughter unresponsive and having a pregnancy-related seizure.

Robertson was rushed to the hospital, where her son was delivered two months early.

Doctors said both Robertson and her baby could have died if she had not received medical help when she did.

Her baby, Wyatt, is doing fine and is expected to be released from neonatal intensive care in November.
