COEUR D'ALENE -- A man who went missing in Kootenai County overnight was found safe Monday morning.
Officials say Kent Giese, 53, of Post Falls, was found around 11 a.m. on Forest Service Road 202 between Windy Ridge and the Wolf Lodge area, about 10 miles from the Burnt Cabin Saddle area in which he was reported missing.
Giese was found by a private person and refused medical assistance. Officials say Giese told search and rescue teams he would stay at the location he was found in order to get his snowed-in vehicle.
Giese called his son early Monday morning to say he'd run out of gas. He was not heard from after that, and a search was launched.
Kootenai County Sheriff's deputies report this is the third successful search in less than 24 hours for their search and rescue teams.
