PAYETTE -- Both westbound lanes on Interstate 84 were closed for over two hours Monday after a semi crashed into a car near milepost six.
An Idaho State trooper on scene tells KTVB around 12:30 p.m. a man in a Geo Metro pulled from the shoulder into traffic heading westbound. An UPS semi truck also westbound hit the back of the car pushing it into the median. The driver of the truck lost control and rolled the truck onto its side blocking both lanes.
ISP says the driver of the car was talking with responders on scene and was taken to Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Ontario. The truck driver was not injured.
Traffic was being diverted at the New Plymouth exit while crews cleaned up the accident scene.
The UPS truck was carrying merchandise, but the packages did not spill out of the trailer.
