NAMPA -- Idaho State Police say an ISP trooper has been injured during a traffic accident near the intersection of Highway 55 (Karcher Road) and Middleton Road in Nampa.

Dispatchers say the crash happened around 7:30 a.m. Monday, and that a total of four vehicles were involved.

Nampa Police Sgt. Matt Pavelek says three cars were stopped at the intersection when a fourth hit the rear end of the ISP trooper's patrol car, causing a domino effect.

The trooper and the driver of the car that caused the crash were both taken to St. Alphonsus in Nampa with non-life threatening injuries. The other drivers were not seriously hurt.

The northbound lane of Middleton Road was blocked for more than two hours.

Nampa Police is currently investigating the crash. They do not believe alcohol was involved.
