BOISE -- The Treasure Valley is such a great, giving community, you proved it with Cares Day last weekend, and you've proved it again on Friday with Hope for the Holidays.
WOW 104.3 FM teamed up with the Boise Rescue Mission and the City Light Home for Women and Children Friday to put on "Hope for the Holidays." They took donations at four Treasure Valley Fred Meyer locations and say that this year, they're in need of the four 'T's' - towels, turkeys, toys and tightie whities.
"It's really about coming together as a community and helping everybody around us. Our friends, our neighbors, even the people we don't get to meet every single day," said Alana Lynn with WOW 104.3 FM.
"If you think about it, whatever you're using in your house every day, we need times 500 everyday for all of the people we're helping in the rescue mission," said Megan Korthals with the Boise Rescue Mission.
Korthals says the donations make a huge impact and will help feed thousands over the next few months. This year they even received a donation of an entire cow!
