EAGLE, Idaho -- People of the Treasure Valley were taken back to the 1860s Saturday at Eagle Island State Park.
The Idaho Civil War Volunteers held a reenactment event to teach people about life during that era.
There were about 20 stations with demonstrations on everything from laundry to shooting with a genuine Civil War cannon.
"A lot of people don't have an appreciation of what it was like during the Civil War," said Richard Dees, adjutant for the Idaho Civil War Volunteers. "We're walking around in character, and we'll talk to folks, and show them the instruments and implements they used to use."
Even President Lincoln made an appearance. The volunteers are committed to the event, with many staying overnight.
