GARDEN CITY -- Three children have been taken into protective custody and their parents charged after a domestic assault on Thursday, according to police.
Ralph Adermann, 42, of Garden City is charged with three counts of misdemeanor injury to a child, along with misdemeanor domestic battery. Police say his 23-year-old wife, Lisa Beauharnois, was also cited for endangering the the couple's children.
Garden City Police arrested Adermann and charged Beauharnois after they responded to a domestic disturbance on the 400 block of East 46th Street.
Police say that's where they found the children, ages 4,2, and 1, living in unsafe conditions.
Deputy Chief Rick Allen said officers found the home had power, but no gas or running water. He says officers also found food strewn about, including food on the floor.
Allen said additional safety issues included the use of multiple space heaters to heat the home, along with clothing scattered on the floor that posed a potential fire hazard.
Adermann remains in the Ada County jail.
