CALDWELL -- A Caldwell woman found what she thinks is a lost Christmas gift, and she's hoping to get it back to the rightful owner.

Johnna Barnes said she was driving down 10th Avenue in Caldwell when she spotted something. The self-proclaimed "road treasure hunter" stopped to check it out.

It turned out to be a diamond ring attached to a bullet shell with a note. Barnes says she's found other things on the side of the road, and was able to get them back to their owners. She's hoping for another happy ending.

"Whoever it is, I hope that they get it back and that they can give it to whoever deserves it and whoever they wanted to give it to," said Barnes.

Barnes turned the ring in to the Canyon County Sheriff's Office. They said it's not a real ring -- it's a piece of costume jewelry. But that doesn't matter to Barnes. She says it's the gesture of giving the gift that makes it special.
