TWIN FALLS -- The College of Southern Idaho and the Idaho Department of Labor are working with Chobani to develop a program to train employees hired to work at the company's yogurt manufacturing plant being built in Twin Falls.

The plant is scheduled to open this summer.

CSI Instructional Dean Todd Schwarz tells The Times-News the programming will train people already hired for jobs, but he does not expect it to be available to train prospective employees.

Schwarz says Chobani will need skilled workers because the plant is highly automated.

CSI plays a role in providing employee training when a major new employer comes to the Magic Valley. Training is paid for using Idaho Department of Labor workforce development training funds.
