BURLEY, Idaho -- A Burley man accused of strangling his wife with a belt has pleaded not guilty to murder.
The Times-News reports 31-year-old Jose Lara entered his plea Monday in Cassia County Court.
The body of Joann Lyn Lara was found in their bedroom in January 2012.
Authorities say Jose Lara first told authorities that he had been at his mother's house and returned to find his wife dead.
He later said they had been arguing over his suspicions that she was having an affair.
Lara was previously ruled mentally incompetent to stand trial, but that decision was reversed in October in Cassia County Magistrate Court.
