BOISE -- Idaho State Police say a 17-year-old boy from Jerome has been hospitalized after driving the wrong way on Interstate 84 near Jerome and running head-on into a semitrailer.
Police say the crash occurred about 4 a.m. Saturday when the boy's Chevrolet Traverse struck a 2007 Volvo semitrailer that was pulling two trailers.
Police say the boy's vehicle was traveling east in the westbound lanes and struck the semi head-on and then hit the first trailer as the semitrailer driver tried to swerve out of the way. The driver of the semitrailer wasn't injured.
Police say I- 84 was blocked for about four hours.
