Boy found injured, partially clothed in Meridian
MERIDIAN, Idaho -- An investigation is underway into what happened to a teenager who likely suffered from an overdose and was found outside, partially clothed, in a drainage ditch early Sunday morning.
Meridian police say the 15-year-old was "extremely intoxicated," when he was found unconscious near the Bridgetower subdivision in northwest Meridian. Police say the teen was also in possession of several items of drug paraphernalia, along with various prescription drugs, and synthetic marijuana, or spice.
Chief Deputy Tracy Basterrechea says a jogger found the boy at approximately 7:30 a.m. Sunday and called 9-1-1. Shortly afterward, an off-duty nurse who happened to be nearby checked the boy's pulse and airway.
Paramedics arrived and took the boy to a local hospital. He was released on Monday and is now home recovering.
