BOISE--The clear skies and sunshine Tuesday may have been misleading on your skin, because temperatures are forecasted to fall.

But when the sun goes down, and the temperatures do fall, the one thing that warms the hearts of the women at Boise’s City Light is each other.

“It’s nice it’s comforting it gives you the will the keep going,” said Stephanie Tucker a City Light resident.

“We take really good care of the ladies and really good care of the kids, said Director of City Light Jean Lockhart.

The many beds that fill the shelter are empty during the day, as the women look for work, but as night falls and the temperatures drop, the beds quickly fill up.

Monica Garcia found herself homeless just two months ago, “This really means a lot to me to help me; you know me and my kid. They give them jackets, clothes, shoes and give me whatever I need.”

It means a lot to Garcia; because she knows as the temperatures continue to sink her children will have the chance to rest in a warm place.

“It’s getting real cold", says Garcia

There is a constant rise in folks using the resources at the Boise Rescue Mission Ministries. President Reverend Bill Roscoe says there is an addition six new-comers each day to the men’s shelter.

“We have a commitment among ourselves that we won’t turn anyone away,” said Roscoe.

And two months from now, Garcia pictures herself in a home of her own, with a job.

“Without them where would I be, you know?” said Garcia. “I would be on the streets. So I really appreciate them.”

While it’s cold outside, Garcia and the rest of the women at City Lights have a place to keep them warm.

City Life Director Jean Lockhart says the biggest need right now, is cash donations. She also says donations of any type are usually welcome.
