BOISE -- What could be a better fall activity than to visit a local pumpkin patch?

However, this particular pumpkin patch is also benefiting a great cause.

Every year Boise firefighters grow pumpkins, and behind Boise Fire Station 10, there are about 1,500 pumpkins.

On Saturday, they gave the pumpkins away with a donation to the Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

There was a corn maze and even stuff for the kids to do, and it's a fall activity no one can resist.

"Everybody really enjoys it. We got our first frost of the year, and it seems like a great time to come out and pick a pumpkin, and people really seem to be enjoying it," said Boise Captain Tim Rosen.

This year Boise firefighters went a little crazy and grew giant pumpkins about 400 to 500 pounds. However, there are also plenty of small ones to go around.
