BOISE -- The Fourth of July holiday kept firefighters with the Boise and Meridian fire departments, along with the Boise Bureau of Land Management busy.
The Boise Fire Department responded to 12 reports of fires on Thursday.
Department officials say that number is slightly down from last year.
According to the Boise Fire Department, four of the fires can be directly attributed to fireworks, while seven others are either under investigation or no cause has been determined. They say most of the calls resulted in a quick response and little or no property damage.
As of 10 p.m. Thursday, Boise BLM fire crews had responded to 7 new fires.
As of Friday morning, crews were still on the scene of a fire along the interstate at mile marker 111 near the exit for Hammett, Idaho.
According to the BLM, that fire burned around 100 acres and was sparked by lightning.
