BOISE -- Mother Nature has delivered an early Christmas present to local skiers and snowboarders.
Bogus Basin officials today announced there is enough snow on the mountain to open this Friday.
Recent storms will allow for a limited opening with Deer Point (#1), Morning Star (#2), Showcase (#4), Pine Creek (#6), Coach (#7) lifts and both moving carpets running.
"It is early season conditions and some trails are inaccessible due to the high winds we had over the last couple of days," said Alan Moore, General Manager. "We are excited to open up for our 70th year and our volunteer board and association welcome everyone up for another great year of affordable recreation and education on the community's mountain."
Bogus Basin will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Day lift tickets will be discounted to $30 until more of the mountain opens. The Nordic center will also be open.
Bogus plans to open for night skiing and its tubing hill as soon as conditions allow.
All services will be available including lessons, rental equipment, and food/beverage services at the JR Simplot Lodge and Pioneer Lodge.
