BOISE -- It's that time of year for kids to pull out the baseball mitt.
Saturday marked the first Little League game of the season for many budding athletes.
Kids wearing their new uniforms stepped to the plate and mound Saturday afternoon at Liberty Park in Boise.
For the Pennell family, this was a new experience.
"It's pretty exciting for us because it's our first year playing, so we're really excited," said Annette Pennell of her two kids.
It wasn't just baseball that got going, softball also started up as well.
