BOISE -- Large plumes of smoke were seen rising from the Boise State campus Sunday, as the Boise Fire Department conducted a live fire training exercise.
Firefighters spent Saturday and Sunday training at Lincoln Hall -- a building that is scheduled for demolition.
"This is an invaluable opportunity for the Boise Fire Department that also benefits Boise State University," said BFD Captain Mike Walker. "Live fire training in buildings scheduled for demolition provides our firefighters the most realistic experience outside of a true structure fire."
In addition to invaluable experience for firefighters, Boise State will benefit as well, since the final demolition of Lincoln Hall will cost considerably less now that the building has been burned down.
