BOISE -- Two Boise men arrested in connection with a Walgreens pharmacy robbery in Garden City Wednesday morning were in an Ada County courtroom today.
Police say 24-year-old Michael Straley jumped the counter at the State Street store and threatened the pharmacist with a weapon. In court today we learned that weapon was an eight-inch long knife. Straley did get away with some prescription narcotics.
"The facts of this case are extremely concerning to the state," said Ada County deputy prosecutor Kassandra Slaven. "The information I have is that the defendant entered Walgreens and threatened the pharmacist with a knife, he demanded that she hand over prescription drugs and threatened to put the knife in her if she did not comply within two seconds."
Leads from the public led officers to the Budget Inn on W. Fairview Avenue late Wednesday night. That's where they arrested Straley around 11:30 p.m. Officers also arrested Ky Rose, who they believe was trying to help Straley leave Idaho.
Some of Straley's charges include robbery, and the use of a deadly weapon in commission of a crime. His bond was set at $500,000. The bond for Rose was set at $20,000.
