MOUNTAIN HOME -- A fishing competition in Mountain Home is taking place to help keep a youth center open.
We stopped by Legacy Park to check out the event and find out about the cause people are casting their lines for.
Along with the fun of fishing and the chance to win some fishing gear, the contestants are helping provide a place for kids, teens and families to have fun and stay out of trouble.
"It's just a good place for people to come in and play games and take advantage of the free utilities that we have," said Ryan Peck, youth center event director.
Peck also tells us he'll be teaching kids at the youth center how to fish and tie flies.
The "Casting for a Cause" competition continues until 10 p.m. tonight.
Entry fees are $5 for kids and $8 for adults.
Children under 14 do not need a fishing license.
