BOISE -- The Boise Fire Department says a firework started a grass fire Friday afternoon on North 21st Street between West Bannock Street and West Jefferson Street.

Firefighters were able to keep the flames from damaging the house.

"We found fireworks on the premises. The house has been abandoned. It looks like someone's been living in there, but for all purposes it's abandoned," said Boise Fire Battalion Chief Jim Gross.

Gross also says the lack of upkeep on the lawn made the grass very dry, fueling that fire.

The person who lit the firework blamed for the fire has not been found.
