BOISE -- There was a long debate today on the Idaho House floor on the controversial health insurance exchange.
After roughly seven hours of discussion about the plan for a state-based, nonprofit exchange - the Idaho House voted 41-to-29 in favor, sending the measure to the Senate.
The exchange is an online marketplace where individuals and businesses could purchase health coverage.
Under Gov. Butch Otter's plan, the state would use $30 million in federal funding to build an exchange, rather than allow the federal government to administer it.
