LINCOLN COUNTY, Idaho -- The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department is investigating a shooting at its shooting range.

They were holding an National Rifle Association law enforcement instructors course, when there was a "negligent discharge" of a firearm.

One officer was shot but is OK. Deputies told KTVB the injury was not serious.

They can't tell say whether the shooting happened because of human error or a problem with the gun.

They are working on internal paperwork and an internal investigation.

They did say it was not another officer's fault.
