BOISE -- After months of anticipation, specialty food chain Trader Joe's is stocking the shelves and set to open Friday.
Trader Joe's 'Captain' Scott Dudek opened the doors early to give KTVB a sneek peak in the much hyped specialty grocer.
The store on the corner of Capitol and Front in downtown Boise is decorated with iconic scenes from the City of Trees. Paintings of the Capitol, train depot and Ann Morrison park line the walls, Boise street signs label check out aisles and the Boise State University logo stands several feet high on the back wall.
Dudek says he's excited to open the Boise location adding, "We love Boise. There's a ton of foodies in Boise and we feel that Trader Joes' is going to fit in in this neighborhood perfectly."
Rumors that Trader Joe's was coming to Boise circulated for several years before 2012 when Trader Joe's decided to open their first store in the Gem State.
