BOISE -- The holiday season is the peak season at the U.S. Postal Service, but have you seen what goes into getting the mail out?
On Tuesday night, KTVB was allowed into the postal processing facility on South Cole Road in Boise. This is the first time in more than a decade that a camera has been allowed inside.
The plant covers all of processing from New Meadows to Burley, and about 2.2 million pieces of mail goes through the center each day.
The busiest day for the post office is just around the corner on December 16, and the postmaster tells KTVB that he expects a 12 percent increase in packages over last year.
