COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -- Coeur d'Alene Police said a drunk driver ran into an IHOP early Sunday morning.
Officers arrived at the IHOP on the 2300 block of N. 4th St. and found a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the side of the building.
Authorities said a 26-year-old woman was driving the Jeep. She did not suffer any injuries but was taken to Kootenai Medical Center for further medical evaluation.
The restaurant was empty at the time. The dining room and kitchen were heavily damaged. The IHOP will likely be shut down for several days while crews clean up the mess.
Police believe the driver was drunk when she got off Interstate 90 at the 4th Street Exit. Police think she went through the intersection and kept going into the building.
The driver was cited for driving under the influence.
