BOISE - Organizers say the inaugural Exergy Tour is making history by becoming the first women's race to provide its fans access to the the popular Tour Tracker® race technology.
According to race organizers, Tour Tracker allows event organizers to broadcast exclusive video coverage online and via mobile, along with digitally tracking racers along the route, as well as offering professional commentary, photography, and daily race standings.
Fans will also be able to share their experience via social media integration on Twitter and Facebook, and via the 2012 Exergy Tour's exclusive mobile app.
Nicola Cranmer, team manger for Boise's Exergy Twenty12 professional racing team, told KTVB that the Tour Tracker update was a huge boost for the event.
"Tour tracker has been in existence for a few years and it's covered the racing for the men, but not for women's racing," Cranmer said, adding "People can take a few minutes during their workday, log-on, and see this amazing race,"
The Exergy Tour Tracker application will be available for free download from the event website beginning one week before the race starts.
The software is available for iPhones, iPads, Android devices and via the Web.
