BOISE -- Idaho's inaugural 2012 Exergy Tour has a major corporate sponsor, an official poster, and yes -- a stylish new t-shirt for race fans.
The best part? All are local.
On Tuesday, a panel of judges selected the official t-shirt design from Boise's Lana Roth. Roth is a local artist who submitted two entries for judging, including entry number six, which judges selected.
"It feels great," Roth told KTVB, adding "I think my design was colorful and fun, and that's what the judges were looking for."
You can find out more about Roth's designs at BANANA-ink.
The t-shirts with Roth's design will be up for sale to the general public during the 2012 Exergy Tour. Ten percent of the proceeds will go to The National Association for Girls and Women in Sport (NAGWS) -- the tour's charitable partner. The shirt will also be available online.
A total of six judges met on Tuesday to select the winning design from a field of 13 entries. After three rounds of artistic discussion, judges settled on Roth's design due to its strong colors and stylish flow.
Judges included Boise Weekly Graphic Designer Adam Rosenlund, local racer Grace Alexander from the Boise Young Riders Development Series, Exergy Development Group Vice President Elizabeth Woolstenhulme, Lori Rietz from the Exergy Development Group, Boise Bicycle Project founder Jimmy Haliburton, and 2012 Exergy Tour Events and Marketing Coordinator Heather Hill.
The price of the shirts is yet to be determined. The t-shirt will be a limited edition, organic cotton t-shirt available in men's, ladies', and youth sizes.
