Boise Co-op to open second store in Meridian

Boise Co-op expanding to Meridian

MERIDIAN -- The Boise Co-op announced it will be opening a second location at the Village at Meridian.

The new 25,000-square-foot store will be located in the Village North portion near Baby's R us and the Nike Factory store.

"We are beyond thrilled that the Boise Co-op has chosen The Village at Meridian to open their first location outside of Boise city limits," says Fred Bruning, president of CenterCal Properties, the company that owns and manages The Village at Meridian. "This store will add a whole new dimension to our current offerings, and really give customers an added convenience."

The Boise Co-op is a member owned cooperative formed in 1973 that sells natural and organic foods.

The Co-op sent out a survey about opening a second location and the poll showed that Meridian was the first choice followed by closely Nampa.

"We are thrilled to become a part of the Meridian community," says Tara Stevens, board president for the Co-op. "Growing the Co-op creates jobs that pay a living wage and provides our local farmers and producers another outlet to sell their incredible products. We can't wait to share our cooperative message by spreading our passion for high quality, natural, organic foods and specialty products."

The store is scheduled to open in the summer of 2015 and plans include cooking classes, food and wine tasting and a regular farmers market.
