BOISE - The Ada County coroner has released the identity of a man killed in a crash on State Street last Saturday. The victim is Lance Barry Hitt, 61, of Middleton. The cause of death is blunt force trauma from a motorcycle accident.

The Boise Police Department continues to investigate a crash involving a car and motorcycle that occurred Saturday afternoon on State Street west of Glenwood Street.

Officers were called to the area at 4:17 p.m. Police say that preliminary information shows the motorcycle and the other vehicle were both headed westbound when the motorcyclist tried to pass on the right side of the road, in the bike lane, as the driver of the other vehicle made a right turn into the driveway of a business.

The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say he was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

The coroner says toxicology results are pending and it may take several weeks to get those results.
