A burglary victim was held at gunpoint after catching two suspects stealing firearms from a gun safe in a home Tuesday afternoon, Meridian police said.

Meridian police responded at around 1:30 p.m. to a home in the 300 block of East Gannet Drive for a report of a burglary in progress.

When officers arrived, the victim reported discovering the safe being broken into upon arriving at the home. The victim was then held at gunpoint ny two suspects.

The victim was eventually able to escape out the front door of the home and called for help as the suspects fled.

Both suspects were white males and were wearing masks. One is described as being tall and thin, and the other as having an average build. They fled in a older-model black Dodge pickup.

Four rifles, two shotguns, three pistols and three bows were stolen.

Police don't believe this was a random crime. They ask anyone with information to call Meridian police at 208-888-6678.
